Since 1985, New Roots Herbal has been committed to the research of natural alternatives to prevent or cure illnesses. Located in Vaudreuil-Dorion, in south-western Quebec, the enterprise is marketed in 11 countries and counts as much as 325 natural health products complying with the pharmaceutical requirements.
As the company was expanding, New Roots Herbal felt the need to get a more precise analytical tool, so it can continue to grow.
A NEW TOOL FOR A BETTER GROWTH MANAGEMENT
In the hope of finding the tool that would meet the company’s needs, New Roots Herbal proceeded to an intensive research with many suppliers. Its choice fell upon Forgestik, a Montreal-based firm specialized in the implementation of SAP business management solution. The supplier has installed SAP Business One, a solution specifically designed for small and medium-sized enterprises.
“When Forgestik came in and implemented the system for us, we had a specific need of an inventory control, explained Patrick Quaile, vice president. We asked for a QR code that enables us to have a very stiff control on the inventory, which is over 99%.”
SAP BUSINESS ONE: A CUSTOMIZABLE AND USER-FRIENDLY SOLUTION
Thanks to Forgestik’s support in the installation of the software solution, New Roots Herbal has been able to customize SAP Business One, so it can meet its specific needs. On account of the possibility of adapting and adding modules to the system, the enterprise can now produce clear and accurate reports.
Besides this first upgrade, employees have now the ability to track any merchandise, no matter where it is in the factory. Thus, they know exactly where is located a product, from its entrance in the company to its delivery to retails, which means they have gotten a better control on the inventory and reduced the risk of errors.
“We would not be where we are today unless we had taken on and learned how to use SAP Business One, five years ago”, stated Peter Wilkes, founder and president.
