Lovato Electric Corporation, a subsidiary of LOVATO Electric S.p.A. (Italy), was founded in 1922 and has been present in Canada since 2006. The company stocks over 1,800 electrical products for the automation and control industry.

Since its arrival in Laval, the company has experienced sustained growth. As the rate of growth accelerates, the shortcomings of the management system used are becoming more and more pervasive: slowness of the system, lack of communication between the different systems and insufficient functionalities to create detailed reports.

The list of irritants is getting longer and longer and there is not enough time to find quick and satisfactory solutions. Faced with these challenges, Mr. Jacques Lévy, President of Lovato Canada, is seriously considering changing the management system. The time of every employee had becom a very precious resource.

“For us, it was time to take another step. Our old software was slowing business growth. Accepting the limitations of the current software and stagnating was not an option. I therefore concluded that it was necessary to move forward with SAP Business One, an investment to support long-term growth,” says Mr. Lévy.
 
Shortly after the implementation of the new system, employees learn to use the solution. The comments are encouraging. It seems that the company has finally found a solid ally to continue its growth: SAP Business One.
 
The administrative staff really appreciate the ease of entering orders. The accounting department now has a simplified decision-making process by adding many levels of detail to financial reports. They're all on the same page: with SAP Business One, Lovato can do more, faster and better.

SAP BUSINESS ONE: A TOOL TO DO MORE, FASTER AND BETTER

Quickly, the company estimates to have realized a time saving of 20% thanks to the automation and the integration of quotations and commercial agreements. Manual data entries have been greatly simplified.

By ensuring better control of deliveries, using BoyumIT's Produmex SCAN barcode reader solution, the company estimates that it has saved 10% in warehouse management time. “The software allows us to avoid many errors since all the required information is in the same place,” says Mr. Lévy.

Shortly after the implementation, new projects are created. The company plans to add a customer portal to reduce the number of calls and increase efficiency and visibility for the customer and for the company. Lovato is also in the process of integrating its website with SAP Business One. “I really feel like we’ve made major productivity gains.
